Hello everyone! This is Yuka, CASE Shinjuku staff.
In some blogs, I inform readers about our coworking space and shared office.
Today, in this blog, I will explain why Takadanobaba is the most comfortable town for digital nomads to work and live.
CASE Shinjuku is located just a 1-minute walk from Takadanobaba Station
First, I need to tell you something important. Yes, CASE Shinjuku is located very close to Takadanobaba Station.
With this in mind, I would like to talk about Takadanobaba, especially the area around the station.

Easy Access to Everywhere
At Takadanobaba station, there are 3 lines: the Yamanote Line, the Tozai Line, and the Seibu Shinjuku Line.
For example, Shinjuku station is 2 stops away on the Yamanote Line, and Shibuya station is 5 stops away on the Yamanote Line.

Everything you need, right at your doorstep
If you use our office, you’ll be surprised at how everything you need is close by. There are many kinds of restaurants, convenience stores, cafes, bakeries, clothing shops, gyms, and so on everywhere! It won’t take long to get there, so you can save time.
For example, if you’re craving fast food, there’s a KFC in the same building, and Burger King is next door. Also, McDonald’s is about a 3-minute walk away.
If you want ice cream, Baskin-Robbins is right across the street.
You have three major 100-yen shops within a 3-minute walk—perfect for setting up your temporary home on a budget. You can also find clothing stores like UNIQLO and Shimamura.
Takadanobaba is known as a ramen town, so if you’re addicted to ramen, Takadanobaba will be a heaven for you.
There are not only popular chain restaurants but also many delicious and affordable local eateries in Takadanobaba, as it is a student town. This is one of the many things that make Takadanobaba so attractive.
Also, there is THE HUB, which is only about a 10-second walk from CASE.So if you’d like to grab a drink after work, you can get there in no time! They sometimes show live sports events, so you can cheer for your country even while you’re in Japan!
In the YouTube video where I explain how to get to CASE Shinjuku, you can see that there are many different kinds of shops around Takadanobaba Station.

Safe and Supportive environment
Takadanobaba is a downtown area in Tokyo, but it is not as busy as Shibuya or the heart of Shinjuku.
Even at midnight, you can spend time safely. Some of our members also work until midnight, so Takadanobaba provides a supportive environment. Even if you’re struggling to come up with good ideas for your work, visiting CASE might help. By talking with other members, you may gain fresh inspiration and discover new ideas. That’s one of the great things about CASE—it’s not just a workspace, but also a place where people can connect and communicate.

Takadanobaba’s Diverse and Global Atmosphere
There are many international students and foreigners in Takadanobaba. If you walk down the street, you’ll probably pass by people from other countries. If you drop by convenience stores, fast food restaurants, or similar places, you’ll often be served by staff from abroad.
So even if you don’t speak Japanese, there’s no need to worry — You’ll find plenty of support in English and other languages, making your transition into life in Japan seamless. Also, since there are many Japanese language schools in the area, it makes you feel even more that Takadanobaba is full of people from around the world.
If it’s your first time visiting Japan, Takadanobaba is a great place to start. Its international atmosphere and welcoming environment will help you feel comfortable from day one.
There are many reasons why I want to recommend visiting Takadanobaba. However, there’s not enough time to share them all in this blog, so all I want to say is: just come and experience Takadanobaba for yourself!
I’m sure you’ll enjoy it once you feel the atmosphere there!
For those planning a long-term stay in Japan
Takadanobaba offers an ideal lifestyle, but to make the most of your stay, a professional and reliable workspace is essential. At CASE Shinjuku, you’ll find more than just a desk and high-speed Wi-Fi—you’ll also discover a community. Whether you need local contacts, a quiet place to concentrate, or simply a change of scenery, we’re here to support you every step of the way.
I hope to see you soon — and thank you very much for reading this blog to the end!
