A Home Away From Home – Why International Digital Nomads Choose CASE Shinjuku

Hello everyone! This is Yuka, CASE Shinjuku staff.
Thank you so much for finding your way to this blog — we truly appreciate it.
First of all, we already feel like we want to meet you!
Maybe you’re a nomad worker looking for a great place to work in Tokyo, right?
Well, we like to think it’s already decided — you’ll be working at our space!
…Okay, maybe that’s a bit much? 😄
But in any case, we feel lucky just knowing there’s a chance we might meet you in the future.

CASE Shinjuku: Your Welcoming Second Home

Many foreigners have used our space over time. Currently, several of them are still using it for both short-term and long-term stays.
If you come to Tokyo for a short term, it means you might have a sightseeing visa, digital nomad visa, and so on. On the other hand, for long-term stays, you might have a student visa, business visa, or something similar.
Of course, whatever visa you have, you’re welcome!!
There are new meetings and times to say goodbye, but most foreign users come back to CASE again.
When they return to Tokyo, they either let us know or come by suddenly as a surprise.
They might think of this place as their second home.
We’re really happy when we meet them again and feel like they’re part of our family.
So, if you want a place you can come back to when you visit Tokyo, it’s better to choose our space. We offer not only a working space but also a place where you can feel comfortable, like home.

This photo is from a farewell and welcome party for our American and German members.

You Don’t Need to Worry About Language

Before coming to Tokyo, you might feel a bit worried about whether you’ll be able to communicate with Japanese people.
I totally understand — I’ve felt the same way when I went abroad myself.
But don’t worry! Some of our staff can speak English, and even if we’re not perfectly fluent, we always do our best to communicate.
So far, we’ve never had a situation where we couldn’t understand each other.
Also, many of our Japanese users speak English and are super friendly. If you talk to them, they’ll be happy to help you!

To help you stay and use our space comfortably, we’ve put up English signs in various places to explain how to use things.
And of course, if you ever need anything explained, please feel free to ask us anytime!

Japanese Touches in Our Space

There are many types of coworking spaces and shared offices in Tokyo, and many of them feature stylish, fashionable designs.
Our space is a bit different — it blends both Japanese and Western styles.
When you enter our coworking space, you’ll take off your shoes. The floor is made of Japanese cedar, so you can enjoy the warm, natural feel of the wood beneath your feet.

We also have a low table that reflects traditional Japanese style. You sit on cushions around it, and it might even make you feel like you’re in a Japanese-style inn, or ryokan.

Sarah, a beautiful American woman, likes this low table. She is holding a puffy toy, Koupen-chan.

A Comfortable Distance from Other Members

Of course, this is a workspace, so most of your time here might be spent working.
But to work comfortably, it’s also important to take breaks and have casual conversations with others, right?

At CASE, we host not only big events like our summer festival and Christmas party, but also small, casual gatherings like chat meetups or lunch sessions.
These give you an easy way to connect with other members.

If you’re studying Japanese, it’s a great chance to practice with native speakers!
Also, our international users always get along well, so you’re likely to find good company here too.

When members take a break and naturally start chatting with each other, it always makes us happy to see those moments.

The Charm of Takadanobaba: A Local Tokyo Gem

Our office is located in Shinjuku, one of the most famous areas in Tokyo.
If you visit the area around Shinjuku Station, you’ll find it bustling with people and surrounded by tall buildings.
In particular, Kabukicho is known as the neighborhood that never sleeps.
However, even though Takadanobaba is also in Shinjuku, it feels much more local and laid-back compared to the rest of the city.
Of course, Takadanobaba is also bustling during the day, but it has a very different atmosphere compared to central Shinjuku.
You’ll understand the difference the moment you visit Takadanobaba yourself.
Also, Takadanobaba offers great access to the rest of Tokyo, thanks to three different train lines.
We believe one of the reasons why CASE is chosen by foreign people is also related to things like this.

Thank you very much for reading this blog until the end.
I hope this post helps you find the best coworking space and shared office for your needs.
If you’re interested in our office, please feel free to drop by and take a look anytime!
No reservation is needed for your visit!

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask us anytime!
